Big Sur Springtime

Every now and then I stumble on a file of raw images that I just never got around to thoroughly reviewing and every now and then I find the shot, a good shot.

It happens so often, I now spend Sunday morning coffee perusing forgotten files loaded with quick card cleaning, downloads.

This was a R&R trip to the coast, some beach combing, hiking along the bluffs, and searching out quiet solitude. I remember this night when I look at this shot. We were the last on the beach, climbing up the bluff heading toward the car. When we turned to catch the last rays of sun the flowers before us were a rainbow of colors. I grabbed my camera and tripod, Herb grabbed the flashlight and started painting the flowers with light. Everything popped for a couple beautiful minutes, then the sun dropped below the horizon and we walked on in darkness.

A flashlight is a handy thing to have.
